The 2011 GA FAST 40 Awards Honor Georgia’s Fastest Growing Middle-Market Companies

Onepath Systems Honored as #2 on 2011 GA FAST 40 Small-Middle Market List

Atlanta, Georgia – July 20, 2011: In good times or bad, a company’s success depends on having the right people. The worse the economy, the better the people must be, especially at the top. And that’s why Georgia’s fastest growing middle-market companies for 2011 are not only thriving and growing, but doing so at mind-boggling speed.

In June, forty of those successful companies were chosen by the Atlanta chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and the southeast regional COA firm Cherry, Bakaert & Holland LLP. Onepath Systems, LLC was chosen #2 in the Small-Middle Market category.

For the 2nd year in a row, technology-based companies have dominated the GA FAST 40 program. Of the 40 Georgia-based businesses honored for 2011, 35% were companies from the technology industry. The FAST 40 program is evidence that in today’s Georgia market, tech companies are innovators who lead by example. These companies are experiencing great success from top-notch products and services, but they are also driven by business leaders who have stayed strong during difficult economic times. As Kip Plowman, Managing Partner of CB&H’s Atlanta Practice, puts it, “these companies are all ahead of the game.”

The awards program honors middle-market companies headquartered in Georgia that have achieved the greatest growth in revenue and employees over the past three years. Twenty companies with revenues of $15 million to $70 million were recognized in the Small-Middle Market category, and 20 companies with revenues ranging from $70 million to $500 million were recognized in the Large-Middle Market category, comprising the GA FAST 40. To be selected, companies had to demonstrate sustained growth over three years with emphasis given to revenue growth – 75 percent – compared to 25 percent for employee growth.

The 2011 GA Fast 40 companies were honored in front of over 400 executives from the Georgia business community at the annual GA FAST 40 Awards Gala held at the St. Regis in Atlanta and are featured in the July issue of the Georgia Trend magazine. Onepath Systems Rated #18 on Atlanta Business Chronicle 2010 Pacesetters List

Atlanta, Georgia – April 23, 2010 - In a time of economic uncertainty, the 2010 Atlanta Business Chronicle Pacesetters have raced past the competition — displaying innovativeness and determination.

To qualify, the business had to be privately owned, based in the 20-county metro Atlanta area and not be a subsidiary of another company. It had to have been established in the first quarter of 2007 or earlier; experienced a two-year growth in sales of more than 50 percent; and garnered revenue between $1 million and $300 million in 2009.

Companies are ranked by a growth index formula, used to even the field among businesses of various sizes. The revenue and employee growth indexes are the percent change from 2007 through 2009 multiplied by the absolute change for the same years. A company’s average employee or revenue growth index is the growth index divided by the average growth index of all the companies that qualify. The weighted average growth index is a company’s average employee index score, plus its average revenue index score. Employee growth was weighted 40 percent and revenue growth was weighted 60 percent. Subscribers can read more – click here.

Onepath Systems provides systems integration services, including professional data services and hardware, audiovisual, fire alarm, security and cabling systems. Founded in 2006 by several former partners of Suntech Systems Inc., an Atlanta-based systems integrator, Onepath experienced revenue growth of approximately 191 percent in 2009.

Onepath’s biggest obstacle through growth has been the lack of adequate capital to fuel future growth. Amid the difficult economy, Chief Financial Officer Jeff Spranger said disciplined cash management and sound accounting principles help the company maintain a strong balance sheet with low levels of debt. “We certainly see our growth continuing at mid-to-high double-digit rates,” said Bob Catanach, vice president of operations.
